Rock in The Priory 2008

posted on 17th Apr 2008

The fourth Showcase for Rock in the Priory took place at Fletcher’s Lea last weekend. Thanks to the well-established relationship between Ware Town Council and Playsomething, the Showcase gives a platform for musicians to pitch for a place at Rock in The Priory and ensures a top quality show at the end of July.

Following on from the successful introduction of acoustic acts at the 2007 gig, it was agreed to include a section for acoustic acts in the Showcase. Fifteen acts in all were seen over the weekend.

With standards so high the panel had a difficult time selecting the acts to go on to appear at Rock in the Priory but those through are:

Magna Saga  Ruff Justice  Jukebox Vandals

Crimson  Puck  James Bennett

Tom Dibbs  Reederz  Kids Uncanny

If Sharks were Land Mammals

Jane  Verity Sessions  David Stephenson

Other confirmed line up for the day:

The Runners  Playsomething  The Broadcast

Paul Richmond  Michael Berk

Dominic De Rosa from PlaySomething said: ‘It was a weekend of broken drumsticks, nerves and, best of all, some great music. We are sure there will be something for everyone in the 2008 line up for Rock in the Priory.

Everyone at Playsomething are pleased to be a part of Rock in The Priory and to see such great local talent.’

With thanks to PlaySomething, Baldock Street for their continued sponsorship & musical expertise which makes the Showcase possible & to Martin Saggers for his technical support.

A big thank you to all the bands who sent in demos and appeared in the Showcase. 27th
