The VX Series features basswood shells with a lacquered exterior maple veneer for a unique look and awesome sound. For 2008, Mapex has added I.T.S. mounts and upgraded hardware for improved performance and value. You can count on looking and sounding your best with the VX Series.
Construction: 8-ply (7 basswood, maple exterior) Shell
Summary: Basswood is an excellent hardwood for instrument making. Its sonic properties are very similar to maple, yet it possesses a little warmer tone that`s similar to birch.
This year, we`ve added a beautiful exterior maple veneer to the shell to allow the transparent lacquer to accentuate the wood grain.
This kit does ccome with all hardware but does not come with cymbals or stool.
